Mission
The National Security Technology & Innovation Caucus in the North Carolina General Assembly is dedicated to advancing North Carolina’s leadership in emerging technologies critical to U.S. national security and economic competitiveness.
Innovation. Security. Jobs.
The National Security Technology & Innovation Caucus is a bipartisan, bicameral group of leaders who share a vision to make North Carolina a national leader in developing the technologies that will advance U.S. national security, power tomorrow’s economy, and create thousands of high-quality jobs across the state.
The Caucus educates state lawmakers on emerging and strategically critical technologies—artificial intelligence, quantum science, advanced manufacturing, critical minerals, and more—and helps align state resources and policy with real national security needs.
The Caucus is co-chaired by Senator Bob Brinson, Senator Jay Chaudhuri, Representative Mike Schietzelt, and Representative Charles Smith.
Caucus membership is quickly growing and will be updated in the near future.
They are joined by colleagues across the General Assembly including:
Representative Grant Campbell, MD
Representative Allen Chesser
Representative Zack Hawkins
Representative Dante Pittman
