Bill Fields
Co-Founder
Bill Fields is a Partner at Blu Venture Investors where he invests in cybersecurity companies. Prior to Venture Capital, he served in the United States Navy as an Information Warfare Officer at the National Security Agency. Bill began his career by serving on the Bush Administration’s National Economic Council and was a staff member on two high profile North Carolina statewide campaigns.
He serves on the Board of Directors for the Institute for Defense and Business and as a mentor at Mach 37 accelerator.
Jarrett Lane
Co-Founder
Jarrett is a defense and technology policy expert. His experience in the Department of Defense spans policy, strategy, and operations in multiple geographic regions, service headquarters, and defense agencies. Jarrett also served as chief of staff and researcher on a Congressionally-mandated panel on defense acquisition reform. In that capacity, he led research on defense innovation and barriers to entry for non-traditional defense contractors.
Following his work on defense acquisition reform, Jarrett joined Amazon Web Services’ government affairs team where he created the company’s AI and emerging tech policy portfolios. While at Amazon, Jarrett also helped launch and grow new business units in logistics, healthcare, and aerospace and satellites.
